At an initial meeting, we discuss all aspects of the project and get an understanding of how you would like to live in the house.
Initial concept & floorplans
From our briefing, we put together a photographic mood board which demonstrates the design direction. This includes ideas for the overall look and feel, as well as specifics such as the kitchen design, bathroom, joinery, features, finishes and design details.
We also review floorplans, incorporating furniture and seeing where we can make improvements and design features. Once this has all been discussed we take the feedback to develop the next stage.
Developed concept & initial 3D modelling
Incorporating all the client feedback, the concept becomes more detailed and specific e.g. the style of doors, architrave and cornice styles, fireplace proposals, bathroom fixtures and fittings etc.
At this stage we have elevated the floorplans into 3D and started to populate the model with the design elements and features as well as reviewing all aspects of the layout and junction details with the design team.
Detailed 3D model & developed concept / design details
Following feedback from the developed concept and initial 3D, we develop the model in much finer detail and confirm design elements.
Finishes (initial photographic proposals included in the concepts)
We then have meetings to confirm all the finishes & fixtures, this usually includes showroom / supplier visits, as well as meetings at our studio where we have a very extensive library of all types of finishes.
Schedules & tender information
This is the production of all information required for the interiors in a suitable format for tender. This includes finishes schedules, bathroom schedules, drawings and design details for all elements of the interior design
For clarity we do not supply any ‘hard’ interior design elements for your project (e.g. taps, tiles, flooring etc). We would provide full specification of all hard finishes which is detailed out on the schedules and (normally) the contractor would be supplying these elements (and benefitting from our supply chain discounts).
Construction
During the construction phase, we attend the Project team meetings and once the project is starting to approach first fix, we attend the site meetings and review relevant contractor progress on site.
Our site presence and involvement in projects through to completion, allows us to deliver a high level of detail and quality to ensure client satisfaction and a property that meets and exceeds expectations.
For clarification, ‘soft furnishings’ includes anything that would fall out of your house if turned upside down.
We would discuss how much you want to spend and then create a generic estimate for all elements as per your brief. We would then review and agree the costs before actually specifying as it ensures that we are designing and specifying within your budget. We will also incorporate any existing furniture and artwork you wish to use into the layouts and arrange the refurbishment/recovering of any pieces as required.
Theme boards to show overall look of furniture & soft furnishings. We would then update the estimate for all required FF&E, with images, prices and lead times. We present fully comprehensive estimates for approval. This also includes for decorative lighting (table lamps, pendants & wall lights).
When preparing decorative schemes, we source from a wide range of suppliers. All items of furniture, fabrics for curtains and upholstery, wall coverings and accessories are handpicked specifically to your brief. The result is an interior with a highly individual style.
This part of the design process is considered from the beginning of the project, however the detailed design process for this element usually begins 6 months before Practical Completion.
